Ousama is a 45-year-old single man from Lebanon. He is living with his two siblings. In 2009, in order to supplement the family’s income, he decided to start his own work as a farmer. His job consists of renting lands and taking care of it. He always seeks to diversify the harvestings to be able to satisfy the clients' needs.
Today, he is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to pay his pick-up truck's mechanical fees. He will be using the loan to facilitate his transportation from a land to another and move his agricultural tools and supplies. He states that this will allow him to carry on easily and properly, which will result in higher profits. In the future, he plans to take more Kiva loans and expand his lands by cultivating a wider variety of fruits and vegetables.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
