Zarqa's story

Zarqa is a 49-year-old housewife. She lives with her husband and four children in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Since 2006, her husband has been running a general store, and he works very hard to meet his family's needs. He needs additional capital for the growth of his business, as the demand of his customers are increasing day by day. Therefore his wife, Zarqa, has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan, for her husband's store. He will purchase a variety of products, including flour, milk packs, eggs, pulses, detergents and oils, to keep up with the increased demand of customers. Zarqa and her husband are very hopeful that the loan will be lucky and a productive one for their family.
