Asha's story

Asha is 35 years old and is a married woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past two years, she has operated a broom-selling business. She sells from home to her neighbors and passersby. In addition she also does farming which provides her with another source of income. Her major challenge in the business is high cost of transportation.
