Mwanamisi is married and a mother of three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees for her children.
She has operated a groundnuts vending business for the past two years, selling at the market to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business.
With the 10,000 Kenyan shillings, she wants to purchase sacks of groundnuts for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
