Hadjah's story

Hadjah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with seven children and six of them attend school. She has been operating a hardware shop for the last twenty-five years, working seven days a week. She generates additional income from a beauty salon. She has requested a loan of UGX 1,000,000 from MCDT- SACCO to increase her stock with more brushes, cardboard, nails, paint, thinner, hoes, knives and cement to sell as well as hair and body oils for her salon. Her challenges include seasonality and thieves. Her dream is to own a fully stocked hard ware shop as well as cattle. She joined MCDT because of the good customer care exhibited by staff members. She stays in her husband`s house with access to electricity but has no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees.
