A loan of $575 helped to stock her store with food products.

Fatima Petrona's story

Fatima Petrona, age 52, is single with adult children. She is from León, which is in the western part of the country. Fatima is a hard-working and responsible woman with good habits and a desire for self-improvement. In her free time she likes to enjoy spending time with her family.

Thanks to her effort and her desire to get ahead, she has a business activity, which is a store located in her home. It is a small store where she sells food products in small quantities. She sells packets of coffee, packets of shampoo, rice, beans, sugar, milk, and bread. She works some 12 hours a day selling her products.

The objective of the loan is to invest in working capital and to stock her business of buying and selling food products. She will do this in order to be able to get better income in the not so distant future.

Fatima Petrona is grateful for the help that the Kiva lenders give to people with scarce resources in poor countries like Nicaragua.
