Ghana
Cape Coast, Ghana / Cloth & Dressmaking Supplies

A loan of $775 helped to purchase more cloth to sell.

Mercy A.'s story

Even though Mercy grew up in poverty and without an education, this has not stopped her from fulfilling her dream of achieving a better life for her and her family.

Currently, Mercy is an entrepreneur. She sells cloth in Asebu Ekrokul (near Cape Coast). Her business enterprise has grown substantially since she began eight years ago. She uses the income from her business to help her husband raise their four children.

Mercy has identified that there are growing demands among customers for her product. Nevertheless, she is unable to meet their needs, due to limited inventory capacity. Thus, she aims to use her loan to purchase more cloth to sell.

With the new profits from her expanded business, Mercy wants to buck the trend by ensuring that all her children will be given the opportunity to further distance their family from poverty.
