A loan of $3,125 helped a member to buy more cassavs.


Protea Group's story

Mwanamvua, who is in her late 40's is married with five children who attend school. She has been selling cassava flour for three years. She works from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Mwanamvua's 13th loans from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy bags for packing cassava flour, paid the packing machine expenses and has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to pay school fees, continued building her house and covered household expenses.

Mwanamvua will use this loan to buy more cassava to make more cassava flour to sell to more customers. Her dream is to finish building her house.

Mwanamvua will share this loan with her loan group "PROTEA," with ten members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
