Clarissa is a 41-year-old, married woman who has three children. She lives at Calamba, Misamis Occidental. Clarissa has been working at her gardening business for seven years. She meets her family's needs from the little amount (4,000) she earns monthly from her gardening business.
However, in 2012 Clarissa joined GDMPC. Now she has applied for a loan from GDMPC Microfinance, in the amount of 30,000 PHP. She will use the loan to purchase additional seeds, seedlings, and young crops to raise. Clarissa wants to make an expansion to her business, one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
