A loan of $1,425 helped a member to purchase a variety of food products and furniture for her husband's restaurant.

Shabana's Group's story

Shabana is 55-year-old housewife. She lives in Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of four children.

Her husband owns small restaurant in the market that is the only source of income for the family. He wants to offer more variety to his customers, which will hopefully help him increase his net income and savings. However, due to a lack of funds, it is difficult for him to purchase products that he needs to cook a variety of delicious dishes.

Shabana is a member of seven-person loan group. The group has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan. Shabana will use her loan to help her husband purchase a variety of food products including rice, vegetables, meat, chicken, yougurt, and salt. The loan will also be used to purchase furniture to enhance the restaurant's seating arrangement. Shabana's husband wants to grow his business in the future with his profits.
