The Ayidokpo group is composed of three members living in the same neighborhood. The group’s representative, Julienne Assiba, is the one raising her hand in the photo. Her husband’s name is Raphael. They have four dependent children, all in school. Julienne Assiba lives together with her husband and children. She did not attend school. For almost 15 years, Julienne Assiba has been selling used clothing and mobile recharge cards. This business allows her to help provide for her family without major hardships. Julienne Assiba stocks up at a market in Benin. With the goal of meeting customer demand and growing her sales volume and her revenues, Julienne Assiba, together with the other members of the Ayidokpo group, is seeking a third loan from ALIDé. Their prior loans have been duly repaid.

Le groupe AYIDOKPO est composé de trois personnes qui résident dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, Julienne Assiba est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Julienne Assiba est mariée à un certain Raphaël. Le couple a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Julienne Assiba vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Julienne Assiba n'a pas fréquenté l’école. Julienne Assiba vend des friperies et des cartes de recharge téléphonique depuis près de quinze ans. Cette activité lui permet de contribuer sans grande difficulté aux besoins de sa famille. Julienne Assiba s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Julienne Assiba sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe AYIDOKPO, un troixième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Les prêts antérieurs a été bien remboursés.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
