Carmen is 60 years old, married with three children. She lives in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental. She owns and operates a fish vending business to earn a living. She has been in her business for over nine years and earns 6,000 PHP every month. She joined GDMPC in the year 2010, and now she has requested a loan of 9,300 PHP to purchase additional fish to sell.
In the future, Carmen wants to make improvements on her house and to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
