A loan of $1,150 helped to purchase organic manure for her fields and begin organic production.

Rosa's story

Rosa is 53 years and lives with her husband, Juan, and their children. They are raising the children in a house made of crude material that they bought some years ago. Rosa is a dedicated woman. At harvest time, she sells her produce in the zone's wholesale market, earning additional money in this manner. “Selling to middle men, you don't earn much money,” she affirms. Thus, Rosa spends all day harvesting her products, to sell them herself later. Her agricultural fields are very fertile, producing good foodstuff -- large and healthy. Now, she wishes to increase her productivity and begin harvesting organic products, aiming for select customers and a better income. This is Rosa's 4th loan with Kiva, and she hopes to realize her plans with the financial help she receives. She promises to comply with her schedule of payments. Rosa will invest the 3,000 sols in purchasing organic manure to nourish her plantings.
