Ana Griselda's story

Ana is 30 years old. She lives in the city of Barranquilla with her spouse and her 2 month old son. She started her activity as a merchant 13 years ago as a store employee. That helped her build what is her small business today, where she offers different merchandise such as paper products, women's accessories, hygiene items and more. Right now, she sells up front and also on credit to her best customers, who are her neighbors and people referred from other areas. Her goal for the future is to have branches and acquire her own home. that is why she focuses her efforts on making her business grow. Right now, she is applying for a Kiva loan. With it, she will buy merchandise that is in high rotation and is challenging to buy as her clientele grows. Her cash isn't enough to respond to the market demand. That is why she is turning to a Kiva loan to buy sandals, baby clothes, gift wrap and soap. This will affect her locale directly and she will expend her schedule fro 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. to generate more income and benefit her family.
