A loan of $550 helped to buy soda, clothes, household supplies and stationary.

Alba Luz's story

Alba, 52, has a variety store in the city of Cartagena where she lives with her husband and her 14 year old son.

She has 15 years of experience and started her business 12 years ago. She started with a neighborhood store where she sold household items to families in the area and later strategically started only selling stationary, costume jewelry, miscellaneous women's items and clothes.

She sells her products in cash from six in the morning till nine at night and she buys in cash at the city marketplace where she finds her products at competitive prices.

Currently she is applying for a CrediKiva. It is her first loan from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo with which she will buy soda, clothes, household supplies and stationary.

Her goal is to increase her sales by offering products with high turnover to help her reach her goal, to offer her son a high quality education.
