A loan of $1,025 helped to buy more merchandise for her grocery store and her general merchandise sales.

Margelis Del Socorro's story

Margelis del Socorro, age 30, is from Chinandega. She is married and has two minor children. Both children go to school and are under her care.

Eleven years ago she undertook the idea of setting up sales at her house. She did this to get family income and to give her two children the support and education that they need. She started out with a small sales business.

It is now a grocery store selling a variety of basic food products for family consumption. She also sells general merchandise like clothes, shoes, slippers, and cosmetics. She makes her purchases with cash, and she sells for cash and also on credit.

She has decided to request this loan for working capital. She wishes to invest more in both businesses in order to make them larger and to generate greater profits.
