A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a new boat to improve his fishing.

Timoteo's story

Timoteo, 46, is a fisherman who lives on an island in Lake Titicaca, a touristic center of the department of La Paz where artisan crafts made of reeds and wool are offered to the public. The majority of the island's inhabitants work in fishing and tourism.

This is his second loan with the institution. Timoteo will use this loan to buy a fishing boat with a higher capacity. The product of his fishing is sold in the city of La Paz. With this new boat, he would like to improve his production and thus satisfy the demands of his clients.

Timoteo faces challenges in his business, such as the wind that keeps him from fishing because of the waves it produces. Timoteo is a person with a desire to succeed. He is happy and grateful to the institution for the support they have given him, because this is the only source of income he has to sustain himself.
