Hadija's story

Hadija is married and has three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past four years, she has owned a restaurant business, where neighbors and town dwellers are her potential customers. She faces a major challenge with delayed payments by those who buy on credit.

With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase a stock of goods like sugar, rice, maize and wheat flour and cooking oil. She dreams of expanding to a modern café in the future.
