Surraiya's story

Surraiya is 49 years old. She is a very energetic married woman and she has four children. She has been doing a business of hand-embroidery for the past ten years. She is passionate about her work, and wants to expand this business further. She has a good clientele and clients like her work.

Her husband is employed as a salesperson in a grocery store. He does not earn enough to support his family well. Surraiya joined her husband to support her family and for the better future of her children. Now Surrayia's embroidery patterns are very popular in her area, and she is the best earning resource in her household.

She wants to grow her business. She requested a loan of Rs 35,000, to buy raw materials such as thread, sequins and pearls in large quantities to meet the increasing demand.

She shared her dream of running a training center for girls of her village. She would teach embroidery skills so they can help her expand her business, and to also earn money for themselves. She is also interested in opening her own shop in the market to display her work.
