A loan of $300 helped a member to purchase labor, fertilizer, and pesticides for her farmland.

Son's Group's story

A 38-year-old mother of four children, Son resides in a rural village in Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Cambodia. To support her standard of living, she has been farming rice on a two hectare of farmland for 15 years, while her husband is a paid worker. Together, they can earn about KHR18,000 per day, and can save about KHR10,000 each day for future needs. Son’s group consists of two members who have been with VisionFund for one cycle. Son successfully repaid the last loan, which helped her better support her family. Now she is leading her group to apply for another loan. Son wants to use her portion to purchase labor, fertilizer, and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income to make a better living.
