A loan of $725 helped a member to buy fertilizers and pesticides for her farm, and to pay for farm labor.

Vutna's Group's story

A villager from the Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Vutna is 42 years old and married. She has three dependent children, two of whom are still in school. The main source of her family’s income is from corn and rice cultivation. To supplement the income, her husband works for others for a fee. Having been in the farming business for 10 years, she is able to earn daily income of KHR 27,600 to support her family, and she can save about KHR 10,000 per day for future needs.

Vutna’s Group consists of two members who live in the same village. Vutna has been with VisionFund for two previous loans, and she completely paid back the past loans. Now she is leading her group to ask for a new loan. Vutna will use part of her share of this loan to buy fertilizers and pesticides for her farmland, and use another part to pay for farm labor. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her crop yield, so as to make a better living.
