A loan of $725 helped a member to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland.

Noern's Group's story

Noern, 38, is married, with two children, residing in a rural village located in the Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Cambodia. One of her children is dependent and is still in school.

For the last ten years, Noern has been farming rice on two hectares of farmland. Sometimes, her husband works for others for a fee. Her family’s daily income to meet the family's needs is about KHR 19,000.

Noern has been with VisionFund Cambodia for three cycles. She completely paid back the past loans which have helped her better support her family.

Now leading her group to apply for a loan, Noern, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her farmland. She hopes to get a high yield from her paddy, so as to make a better living and to keep her child in school.
