A loan of $50 helped to pay for 10 low-cost LED lights to resell to rural households without electricity.

Vincent's story

Vincent is making progress toward repaying his first Kiva loan. He states that the support given by Kiva has enabled him expand his business beyond his village and has increased his business income. He is seeking a top-up loan of RWF 30,000.00 to buy 10 more rechargeable LED lights, which he will resell to people without electricity in his village.

Every week or so, these customers will return to him to have their lights recharged for just RWF 100. He is also a shopkeeper and is reinvesting the money he makes into expanding his other business, to earn more money for himself, his wife Grace, and their two children.
