A loan of $175 helped to buy fertilizer, manure, and a spraying pump for her corn crops.

Juana's story

Juana is 45 years old and married. She is a fighter and an enterprising woman with a desire to succeed. She and her husband have two children. The younger one is in school and the older one helps out with the farm activities.

As a family, they make a living in agriculture by planting corn, beans, vegetables, sweet chilis, cucumber, etc. Juana went to primary school, but she did not finish after the first degree because her parents had a low income and were unable to support her. However, from a very young age, she learned to work on the field, and her parents taught her about farm activities more than 38 years ago. Her produce is sold and traded in a local market near her home by intermediaries who qualify her produce as healthy, uncontaminated and not treated with any chemicals to make it grow faster.

Juana needs help to buy fertilizer, manure, and a spraying pump for her corn crops, so that her crops will be protected from infestation, bugs, and disease.

Her goal is to be able to improve her home by plastering the walls and making other improvements so that the structure will be better protected. Her dream is to be able to educate her children, so that they can have better opportunities in life and so that they do not go through the same situation.
