A loan of $800 helped purchase a fishing net.

Juan Erits's story

Juan is a 23 year old fisherman. He lives on an island of the Lake Titicaca, a tourist area in the La Paz department where artisans offer the public goods crafted out of large reeds and wool. The majority of the island’s inhabitants work in fishing or in tourism.

This will be his second loan with the institution. Juan is going to use the loan to purchase fishing nets. His motivation for requesting the loan is to expand his fishing and increase his working capital. Juan has many challenges with his business, one of which is increasing production. He is going to use the earnings to continue improving his work since this is his only source of income to support his family.

Juan is a hard worker and is happy for the opportunity provided by the loan.
