Bidu is a married man; he has one child who attends school. Bidu owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. His greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Bidu operates a motorcycle transport business. His customers are passers-by and town dwellers who he takes from door to door. He has a challenge of seasonality. During the rainy season it becomes difficult to operate his business.
With the 30,000 KES loan he wants to purchase spare parts to repair his motorcycle. Bidu joined Yehu to access loans to boost his business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
