Zaree's Group
In this Group: Zaree, Nasreen, Mumtaz
Zaree is a group leader of a three-member group. She is a responsible housewife and has three children. She lives in Lahore, Pakistan with her family. Her husband owns a tea hotel in his comunity which is the only source of income for the family. His income is not enough to meet the household needs so he wants to grow his business. By doing so he will be able to increase his net income and savings which will at least help him to improve the present condition of his family. To help her husband purchase tea packs, milk and chairs, Zaree has requested for a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Paksitan.

Nasreen is a group memeber of the same group. Since 2004, Nasreen has been running a beauty parlor in her house. She has excellent beautician skills. She wants to further grow her business so that she can increase her income. She has requested a loan amount of 20,000 PKR from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. She will use the loan to purchase cosmetic products like make-up kits, eye shades, facial creams, hair proteins, masks and many other products for the growth of the beauty salon. She is hopeful that the loan will be productive for her business. She is thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
