A loan of $400 helped to buy sugar, baking flour, frying oil, cereals, and other items for her cafe.

Monica's story

Monica is a resident of Likoni, Kenya. She is a single mother of one child and runs a food cafe which has been in operation for six years. This is her only current source of income.

Monica was introduced to Milango by her friends and is asking for a loan of 31,500 KES to buy sugar, baking flour, frying oil, cereals, and other ingredients.

Despite the high level of price fluctuations, Monica believes she can save the extra income for the education of her child, provide a means of income to the other employees, and use part of the money to open a larger cafe.
