A loan of $1,500 helped a member to buy more products for her grocery store.

Karin Group's story

The communal group “KARIN” is comprised of 8 entrepreneurial women with great creativity for business. Bertha is 46 years old, married and a mother of 3 children. She has a small grocery store which she has had for about 15 years. She has been able to promote to her customers which has generated profits for her which has allowed her to cover the household expenses. In the future she would like to have her own premises where she can sell her products and obtain greater economic gains.

With the loan given she will invest it to buy more products for her grocery store and thus continue satisfying her customers' needs and to be able to come out ahead. At the same time, Bertha and all the members are very grateful to Kiva for the loan and for the assurance that has been given to them. Bertha is the second on the left; she is wearing a blue shirt. Saying goodbye, she promises that she will fulfill her goals proposed.
