A loan of $600 helped to buy more shoes to sell.

Tabitha's story

Tabitha is a 27-year-old married woman. She has two children, a 6-year-old and a 13-year-old. She describes herself as a hard-working woman. She operates a retail stall where she sells shoes. She has been involved in this business for four years and employs one staff member. Her business is located in an open, busy market, and her primary customers are local residents.

Tabitha describes her biggest business challenge as stiff competition within the area. She will use the KES 50,000 loan to buy more shoes to sell. Her business goal is to be a wholesaler, selling shoes to retailers and customers in the environs within five years. She hopes that in the future, she will cater for her family's financial needs with the profit she will get from the business. This is her second loan with SMEP DTM. Her previous loan was paid successfully.
