Dieu Pourvoira 3 Group
In this Group: Leontine, Josephine, Laude Myjoux, Nisla, Helena, Louise
Leontine, age 31, is married with a 14-year-old daughter who is currently attending school. Leontine is part of the Dieu Pourvoira 3 group. She sells used clothing in a local market. She has had this business for over 10 years! She has gained a valuable reputation in the market over the years.

Leontine will use the loan to buy large bales of used clothing from her supplier. In Congo, used clothing is sold to local vendors in large bales and then separated out to be sold individually. Her business strategy is to offer her customers a personal service of picking out clothes she knows they want. She sets them aside and sells them to the specific person.

This is Leontine's first loan from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. HOPE and her group are confident she will repay the loan. She would like to create another activity in the future. She hopes her daughter will continue her studies and attend a university one day.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
