A citizen from a rural village of Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Phan is aged 31 and married. She has two children. To feed her family, she has worked hard as a rice farmer for ten years, and her husband works as a paid construction worker to better support the family. The current business earns her about 27,000 KHR per day.
Phan has been with VisionFund for three cycles and completely paid back the past loans which have helped her better support her current business. Now she is applying for a loan of 3,000,000 KHR to buy a hand tractor to support her paddy business. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her rice healthfully and fruitfully so as to make a living better.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
