A loan of $1,025 helped a member to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland.

Nen's Group's story

Living in a rural village of the Cheung Prey district of Kampong Cham province, Nen is a 29-year-old mother of two dependent children; one is in school while the other one is still too young for school. She is a rice farmer in the local area. She does this to support her family. Having been in this business for nine years, she is able to earn about 37,000 KHR per day and she can manage to save about 20,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.
This is the first loan for Nen with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now she is leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and rice seeds for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her rice timely and successfully so as to have a better living and keep her child in school.
