A loan of $525 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland and to pay for labor.

Saron's Group's story

Saron, 34, is married with two children, residing in a rural village in the Kampong Cham province’s Ponhea Krek district, Cambodia. One child is dependent upon her and attends school.

For the last fourteen years, Saron has been farming rice and growing cassava as primary sources of her family’s income. Sometimes her husband works for others for a fee. They can earn about 26,000KHR per day and manage to save about 10,000KHR each day after offsetting daily expenses. Saron is with VisionFund for this loan cycle. She is leading her group to ask for a loan of 1,000,000KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and to pay for labor.

Saron hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income and fulfill her dream to have a decent home to live in.
