A loan of $1,850 helped buy fertilizer, seeds, sheeting, and small machinery for his greenhouse.

Vladimir's story

Vladimir has been growing vegetables in greenhouses on his plot in Velikaya Znamenka for 18 years. His primary crops are tomatoes, cucumbers, and radishes.

Vladimir worked in Kiev for six years as a crane operator. On vacations and days off he would go home and work in the garden. The job didn't last and Vladimir decided to farm full time. Now he has more time for his children and greenhouses.

Vladimir has extra land, so he wants to build a new greenhouse in the fall. He needs a loan for fertilizer (3000 Hryvnia), plastic sheeting (2500 Hryvnia), seeds (5000 Hryvnia), and a rototiller for tillage (4500 Hryvnia).
