A loan of $1,500 helped to buy fertilizers, compost, and supplies for her coffee crops.

Maria Iluc's story

María is a young married woman who is 24 years of age. She has many hopes and dreams. María finished her primary school education up to the sixth grade, but she was unable to continue because her parents lacked the financial resources. Her marriage has resulted in two children, one of whom is studying at school while the other attends kindergarten. It was her parents who taught her at an early age how to work in the agriculture business. María and her husband work on the land that they obtained as an inheritance from her in-laws. They engage in tasks such as weeding, pruning, and fertilizing. She and her husband have been farming for more than five years. Their land is located three kilometers from their house, so they must travel by foot since they do not have a means of transportation.

María is currently requesting a loan so that she can buy fertilizers, compost, and supplies in order to maintain her coffee crops. Her dream is to have the most productive crops in the region so that she can generate more income to help her children with their studies and to provide them with all of the basic necessities that are required at home each day. María would like to someday buy another piece of land so that she can cultivate a variety of basic grains.
