A loan of $1,300 helped to buy certified seed and soil amendments to grow coffee.

Maria Angelica's story

María, 55, is happily married and has two dependent children from that marriage who live with her. María studied up to the first grade; she wasn't able to continue studying because her parents didn't have the resources to help her. She and her husband have made a living for a long time growing basic staples such as corn, beans, and coffee, which they sell on a small scale in the local market and to neighbors. Her husband taught her this job. The land María works is her own. She's grateful to God for that and for everything He gives her every day. Currently María's requesting help to be able to buy certified seed and soil amendments to grow more coffee. This way she'll be able to plant a greater quantity and get a more productive and healthy crop. Her goals and dreams are to be able to increase her crops, get more income for her household and her family, and continue helping her husband with the expenses for staple items. But her priority is for her children to become professionals at the university level and have a better education and job opportunities, and be better every day.
