A loan of $1,500 helped to buy farming supplies.

Catalina's story

Catalina is 58 years old, married, and has eight children but only one of her daughters still lives with her and helps her with the housework, such as cleaning and other daily chores that come up. She does not have a formal education because her family had limited resources and they were not able to support her. She is a hardworking, enterprising, lady who thanks God every day because he allows her to be alive and gives her the strength to get ahead. She is no longer with her husband but she decided to look ahead and create more opportunities for a family income. She has a small business where she makes tortillas but her strongest business is farming, started by her husband more than ten years ago and currently provides half of the family income. Catalina is asking for this loan to buy fertilizer, compost, and bug bombs to maintain her coffee crop. If she doesn’t maintain it, then it can be damaged by diseases that affect this type of crop. She dreams of an education for her daughter so that she can have a better quality of life and better opportunities for employment because working the land is hard work and with so much environmental pollution and lack of supplies, earnings are low. However she can prepare and strengthen her crop in this way and have an excellent harvest.
