A loan of $400 helped to buy ingredients.

Rosa's story

Rosa is 60 years old, married and lives with her husband in a home of her own. Her children are on their own, have their own places, and visit her now and then. Rosa sells regional food such as “juanes, el tacaco” and other things. Now she only has this business and buys her ingredients -rice, fish, and plantain leaves- in the morning. She’s been doing this for ten years and began the business due to lack of money and work. She decided to do this because of the high demand. She wants to build a restaurant in the future so that she can give better attention to her customers. This will be her forth loan through Kiva and she is very grateful for the opportunity to obtain capital to start her business.

She will use the 1,000 PEN from this loan to buy rice, fish, plantain leaves, condiments, utensils, and other things to prepare her delicious dishes so that her customers will be satisfied.
