A loan of $400 helped to buy chickens.

Nelida's story

Nelida, 39, is married and the mother of two children who live with her in her own house.

Nelida makes a living selling chickens. She always buys the number of birds she needs to make her shipment to the coastal areas where she has customers who make weekly requests. Sometimes she sends live chickens while other times she sends them already dead, seasoned, and cut into pieces.

She says this job requires a lot of sacrifice because in order to get the good and fresh products she sells to her customers she has to get up early to go to the chicken distribution centers to get ahead of other vendors who compete in this same sector.

She has been in this business for more than four years. She works alone and says the desire to do things well and generate income for her family are her main motivation to strive for progress.

She's requesting 1000 nuevos soles [PEN] and she's grateful to those who are giving her the loan she needs to continue developing her business. She'll invest the requested amount in buying large chickens for her business.
