A loan of $2,475 helped to make a house extension and do interior repairs.

Batbayar's story

Mrs Batbayar, 45 years old, lives with her husband and son in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The family resides in their own house on a plot of land. Using her previous loan, she began renting a grocery stall at the trade center and her business is doing well. Her husband purchased a truck in 2010 and since then, has been rendering transportation service to the local people. Also, her husband raises livestock in the countryside during the summer time and she makes and sells dairy products at her grocery stall. She is requesting a loan of 3,500,000 MNT to purchase building materials such as planks, bricks, cements and gypsum. These materials will be used for interior repairs and for a house extension. Building a barn as an extension to her house will reduce heat loss through the door and the interior repair will enable the family to burn less coal, emit less smoke and contribute to the efforts against air pollution. The borrower is a very hardworking individual who deeply cares for her family.
