A loan of $1,350 helped to buy a welding machine and fruit.

Aurelia's story

Aurelia, 43, is married to Gerardo, who is a farmer. Together, they have two children, with whom they live in their own house.

Aurelia's work consists of selling juice, and she also has a welding workshop. She has a stall in the main market of her town, where she works every day from the early morning preparing various types of breakfast food. She has been in this business for six years, and her oldest daughter helps her with the work. She shares her time between this activity and another business, the welding workshop. She opened the workshop six months ago, and she occasionally works there in the afternoons. It is mainly her husband who works there.

What she likes about her work is that it allows her to be in contact with people constantly. She enjoys learning about her clients' preferences and what they order so that she can continue to improve. Aside from this, she enjoys the profit from her two business activities.

This is her fifth loan with Kiva. She is very touched and thankful for the financial backing that she has been offered in order to continue with her plans. She does not want to stop paying her loan back due to a lack of money, which is why she is committed to being very punctual and above all very responsible with her payments.

With the requested amount of 3500 Peruvian soles, she will buy a welding machine, with which she hopes to develop better work in her workshop and offer a quality service. She will also invest a small amount in the purchase of fruit.
