Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $600 helped to buy construction materials for building a room.

Norma Lisandra's story

Doña Norma is 31 years old and lives with her husband and three children. She has been selling sweets, such as coconut preserves, for 10 years. With the income she earns, she is able to pay for some of the household expenses.

Doña Norma wants to make an improvement to her home, but she does not have sufficient capital to proceed. For this reason, she is requesting a loan in order to buy materials for building a room she needs in her home. This will allow her family to live more comfortably.
