Filomena's story

Filomena, who is 48, lives in the district of Kimbiri, in the Cusco region. She is married to Felix, who is 48. She owns a home built with quality construction materials. She lives there with her three children, whom she gives all her best. She owns a business where she sells a variety of dressmaking supplies, as well as other products. She periodically travels to the capital of the region personally in order to acquire wholesale merchandise to keep her business well stocked for extensive periods of time. This allows her to maintain her customer base.

One of her main long-term goals is to own a space where she could move her business, and also expand her sales to include wool and yarn, in hopes of increasing her future income. This is her first loan with Kiva and she is very grateful for the opportunity she is being offered to keep her business going.

She needs 1,000 nuevos soles in order to travel out of town and acquire buttons, thread, lace, and other popular items in order to restock her business.
