A loan of $350 helped to purchase more lappa (traditional clothes) for her business.

Watta's story

Watta is 37 years old and lives in Kakata, the capital city of Margibi county, which has the highest production of rubber in Liberia. She is single with two children ages 10 and 13. They live at home and are in school.

She was unable to attend school, and for four years now she has been selling lappa (traditional clothes) around her community and at the market. She started this business with small goods (lappa) from her friend as sell-pay (to take the goods on credit, sells the goods, pay the principle, and have the profit) and she learned this trade from her friends.

She is requesting a loan to purchase more lappa for her business. She hopes to expand her business.
