A loan of $600 helped to buy a motorcycle for his transport business.

Julius's story

Julius is a 29-year-old, married man living in Kasese, Uganda. He has one child. Being a good father, he dreams of educating his child (and any future children he may have) up to the University level, and of constructing a permanent house for his family's residence.

For three years he has been selling electronics, but he also has other income sources, such as cassava flour selling, motorcycle transport and a salt pan business. Price fluctuations and inadequate capital pose challenges to his goals, including his desire to expand his transport and electronics businesses. Julius intends to use the loan to buy a motorcycle, which he will hire out to a driver who will remit 80% of the daily earnings to him.
