Danayaa-Ii Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone is very pleased to present to you members of the “Danayaa II” group. These are small-scale entrepreneurs who have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to apply for a loan of SLL 800,000 for each in order to invest in their respective businesses. Magret is the featured leader of this group. Magret is a twenty-seven-year-old; she is married with four children – three in primary school and one in secondary school. Magret sells cigarettes, milk, sugar, batteries, soap, toothpaste, biscuits, sweets, books, etc. She has been a businesswoman for seven years now. With the help of this loan, Magret will invest in her business by buying the above-mentioned items in bulk to add to her current stock.
