Benita's story

Benita was born in the community of Mika, but she lives in the community of Viscochoni, thirty minutes from the city of Paucartambo (the community of Mika is located in the district of Colquepata in the province of Paucartambo, department in Cuzco, Peru). She is 75 years old, married and has six children. Benita is an enterprising and hardworking woman who works in agriculture. She has various plots of farmland where she grows potatoes, corn, barley, and more. She takes her products to sell in the markets of the city of Cuzco. A group of neighbors invited her to participate in the “Intipakareq” communal bank because she is a responsible and kind person. At this time, she needs the loan to buy manure, seeds and fertilizer. She is grateful to all of the people for the loan and committed to making her payments on time.
