A loan of $575 helped to buy manure, seeds and fertiliser.

Victoria's story

Victoria was born in the community of Buena Vista but now lives in Mika. (Mika is in the Colquepata district, which is in the province of Paucartambo, in the department of Cusco, Peru). Victoria is 41 years old, married and has six children.

Victoria is an enterprising and hardworking woman who makes a living in agriculture. She has cattle, sells artisan products and vegetables, and raises young animals (such as hens, guinea pigs and pigs). On Saturdays, Victoria takes her animals to one of Cusco's markets and the rest of the week she sells food as a street vendor in Mika. Victoria also has various plots of land where she grows potatoes, barley, corn and other products.

Victoria was invited to participate in the "Intipakareq" communal bank by her neighbours because she is a happy and responsible person. On this occasion Victoria is applying for a loan to buy manure, seeds and fertliser. She thanks everybody for the loan and promises to make her repayments on time.
