A loan of $300 helped to pay for nail polish, cuticle remover, pushers, nail cutters and other materials needed in her business.

Susan's story

This is Susan, 33, a resident of Batasan, Philippines. She is married to Fernando, a construction worker and is a mother to her children. She, together with her husband, manages their own household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Susan offers manicures and pedicures. She already has regular customers in her community and they just contact her when they need her. She does home service too. She earns a minimum of PHP 600 in sales every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a PHP 12,000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy nail polish, cuticle remover, pushers, nail cutters and other materials needed in her business. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Susan dreams that her business will grow and that she will have another source of income. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay microfinance loans.
